Nonlinear was founded by Avijit Dutta, a JU and IIMB alumnus to facilitate Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the country. We are a small but growing team of designers helping early-to-growth-stage founders, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, subject matter experts & change-makers solve interesting problems and make a lasting impact on business and society in general.

Job Descriptions.

Apply if,

  • You are hands-on with the fundamentals of visual communication & graphics design. You notice subtle differences in brand communications of popular (or not-so-popular) products.
  • You are happiest sketching, drawing, and rendering your thoughts into paper/screens. Visual communication is second nature. You are hands-on with at least one graphic design software of your choice.
  • You are a quick learner, self-driven, accountable and always meet your deadlines.
  • You are available at least for the next three to four months, possibly for a full-time engagement henceforth.

What will you do?

Brand Identity Design. Create graphic designs (illustrations, icons, logos, stories) for digital products - app/web.

Work mode: In office 

Selection process?

Part A:

Apply with your design portfolio ( behance, dribble profile, if any, else up to 3 works put on Google Drive and share links with view access)

Part B

A design challenge will be given. You have to create it in 2 hours. followed by a personal interview.


Apply if,

  • You are hands-on with Figma and familiar with the fundamentals of user experience and interaction designs.
  • You are happiest observing human interactions with digital products, creating user personas, drafting wireframes, mockups and prototypes of digital products.
  • You are a quick learner, self-driven, accountable and always meet your deadlines.
  • You are available for the next three to four months.

What will you do?

Create UI designs using Figma for digital products - app/web.

Work mode:  In-office 

Selection process?

Part A:

Apply with your sample designs (up to 3 nos, put it on a drive and share links, Behance, dribble profile, if any)

Part B

A design challenge will be given. You have to create it in 2 hours, Followed by a personal interview.


Apply if,

  1. You are hands-on with secondary market research techniques and familiar with the fundamentals of management principles.
  2. You are happiest sitting at the laptop researching, reading reports, digging into data and bringing out insights that answer the research questions. You know at least one data manipulation/visualisation software like the back of your palm. Googlesheet, docs, Excel, ppts. Nice to have: Notion, python
  3. You are a quick learner, self-driven, accountable and always meet your deadlines.
  4. You are available for the next three to four months.

What will you do?

Google, read reports, expert interviews, aggregate data, analyse data, and create insights.

Work mode:  In-office

Selection process?

Part A:

A research challenge will be given. You have to create a report in 2 days.

Part B

Personal interview.


Apply if,

  1. You are hands-on with pre-production, and production skills for creating online courses. This includes cinematography and, an eye for visual storytelling.
  2. You are happiest when behind the camera, shooting. You know the camera like the back of your palm.
  3. You can create beautiful effects with light and shadow with minimal equipment.
  4. You are a quick learner, self-driven, accountable and always meet your deadlines.
  5. You are available for the next three to four months.
  6. You are open to travel for work. (costs will be reimbursed)

What will you do?

Plan and shoot and organise videos (talking head, overhead & screen share) for online courses, YouTube channels and podcasts.

Work mode: In-office 

Selection process:

Part A:

Apply with your sample videos (up to 3 nos, max up to 5 min duration, put it on a drive and share links), including a brief on your thoughts on producing the work:

Who is it for?

What was your intent behind the shooting setup?

What equipment, lights etc did you use to shoot this?

Self-rating of the work (out of 10, 10 being the highest)

Part B

Personal interview.


Apply if,

  1. You are hands-on with post-production, and skills for creating online courses. This includes an eye for visual storytelling and excellent video and audio editing skills.
  2. You are happiest sitting at the laptop editing, re-editing and stitching the most elegant story possible with the videos shot. You know at least one video editing software like the back of your palm.
  3. You are a quick learner, self-driven, accountable and always meet your deadlines.
  4. You are available for the next three to four months.

What will you do?

Edit and produce launch-ready videos/audios (talking head, overhead & screenshare) for online courses, YouTube channels and podcasts.

Work mode:  In-office 

Selection process?

Part A:

Apply with your sample videos/podcasts (up to 3 nos, max up to 5 min duration, put it on a drive and share links), including a brief on your thoughts on producing the work:

Apply if,

  1. You are hands-on with the fundamentals of business communication, both verbal and written. You are a people person never shy of friends.
  2. You are happiest connecting to people and helping them solve their problems. You have a deep sense of empathy and a sharp logical mind to drive conversations.
  3. You are excellent at networking (e.g. LinkedIn), remote presentations and digital conversations. You have an interest in innovation and entrepreneurship.
  4. You are a quick learner, self-driven, accountable and always meet your deadlines.
  5. You are available for the next three to four months.

What will you do?

Network and build a sales funnel, help close deals for product design, workshops (e.g. design thinking), strategy & research projects.

Work mode: In-office

Selection process?

Part A:

Psychometric test (online)

Part B

Personal interview.


Apply if,

  1. You are hands-on with the fundamentals of business communication, both verbal and written. 
  2. You are happiest playing with words and their meaning, writing and writing some more. You know why a great ad-line works and why it doesn’t. You are a master crafter and storyteller with loads of humour and wits.
  3. You are excellent at coming up with short one-liners, articles and narratives. Your classmates come to you to write their resumes. You can write a perfect sales pitch.
  4. You are a quick learner, self-driven, accountable and always meet your deadlines.
  5. You are available for the next three to four months.

What will you do?

Copywriting, Brand storytelling, Blogs, and Ad copy.

Work mode: In office 

Selection process?

Part A:

Apply with your sample writings (up to 3 nos, put it on a drive and share links)

Part B

You will be given a short writing challenge. Submit in 2 hours, followed by a personal interview.
